Jane Watson

I am a self-taught artist.  I have always loved art but only started painting in 2001 when my partner and I moved into our first home together. As money was tight I painted some abstract pictures to decorate our home.  After that, painting became a passion for me and I am still experimenting and learning new techniques all the time.

I started with abstract painting, just experimenting with colour.  I am now enjoying painting landscapes, seascapes, people and animals. I have recently been having fun painting pet portraits and am happy to take commissions.

I have been told my style is naive.  My inspiration comes from the painters, Alfred Wallis and Christopher Wood among many.

The area where I live along the East Coast of England provides me with plenty of inspiration.  I enjoy painting with both oil and acrylic and currently I am painting on cardboard as I like the textures it gives.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work.
