Jane Watson

I live in a small town called Wivenhoe near Colchester, Essex.  Wivenhoe is situated on the River Colne and many of my paintings are inspired by the boats on the river and the surrounding wildlife. My work has been described as sparse, calm and meditative with an influence of the St. Ives artists.

I use both oil and acrylic and I like to experiment with a wide choice of materials and media.  Currently I am creating a collection of collages inspired by the work of Mark Hearld.  It suites my naive style.

I also enjoy painting animals and have been commissioned to paint some of my friends pets, including a chicken called Gwen and a blue tit called Hillman!

I have sold work through the Saatchi online gallery and have regular exhibitions locally.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work.

I am happy to take commissions.
